Naidoc Week is an opportunity for all Australian’s to learn about First Nations cultures and histories, and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous cultures on earth. This year’s theme, GET UP! STAND UP! SHOW UP!

encourages communities to come together and champion meaningful and positive change for First Nations people in our beautiful country. We enjoyed participating in these events across and across all our locations.

Our Far North Coast Home and Community Care Coordinator, Allison Cornish was invited to march in the 2022 Naidoc Week Celebrations in Tweed Heads. The march began in the main street of Tweed Heads and continued all the way up to Queensland and NSW border join, coming together to make their way to Jack Even’s Boat Harbour.

Celebrations continued with speeches, cultural singing, and dancing – recognising the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We had a fabulous week and were privileged to represent McLean Care in the many festivities.
