We understand that it can be extremely difficult for retirees just to find affordable rental accommodation. At McLean Care®, we provide homes that are not only affordable, but also attractive, and ageing-friendly.
Our Killean Units provide retirees with a home that is worry-free; a home where you can continue living your life as you lived in your previous home.
The Killean Units are particularly attractive to retirees who have lived on the land or in the bush, having a sense of space and a rural outlook with cows and kangaroos, giving a sense of freedom and privacy.
Choose from one and 2-bedroom homes, each designed differently to accommodate individual preference.
The rental rate varies with the size and design. The rent you will pay includes:
• No entry bond
• Personal security monitoring system
• Quick and efficient maintenance and gardening service
Most importantly, with your Killean Rental Agreement, you are assured of Security of Tenure - the home is yours for as long as you need it.
You are encouraged to garden if that is your passion, but if not, the lawns and gardens are maintained by McLean Care® staff for you. McLean Care® is also a pet-friendly environment, and we invite you to bring your ‘best mate’ with you to your new home. (Restrictions apply)

Rental Cost
The Killean Units range in size, and there are one and two-bedroom units available. Rental is 50% of the aged pension, currently ranging between $466.50 and $502.72 per fortnight, plus Centrelink rent assistance.
Units can also be purchased at the current market value. The two new units are for purchase only.
Recurrent Charges
You may also be required to pay a Recurrent Charge, which has been calculated to meet the general expenses of operating the village and providing services. You will not need to pay the Recurrent Charge if you are paying ‘rent only’ or if you have purchased a unit.
The current Recurrent Charge is between $140.00 and $233.33 per fortnight.
Please note: The Recurrent Charge is recalculated every March and September in accordance with the increase in your pension.
Other Costs
There is no Rental Bond, and McLean Care® pays water rates and provides a Tunstall Security Monitoring System as part of your rental agreement.
Residents are responsible for the arrangements of their electricity connection/disconnection and payment.
Telephone wiring has been installed to all villas and units. Connection/disconnection and maintenance of the telephone is the responsibility of individual residents.
